Glanzvolle Premiere für den World Ski Award im A-ROSA Kitzbühel

KITZBÜHEL (niko). Am Samstag wurden im A-Rosa Kitzbühel erstmals die World Ski Awards vergeben. Mit dieser exklusiven Auszeichnung bekam der „Oscar der Tourismusbranche“, der World Travel Award, heuer erstmals sein winterliches Pendant. Der Gastgeber, das A-Rosa Kitzbühel, war nicht nur Austragungsort des Galaabends, sondern ging auch in der Kategorie „Best Ski Hotel Austria“ als Gewinner hervor. Josef Burger, Vorstand der Bergbahnen Kitzbühel, konnte den Preis für besondere Verdienste im Wintertourismus entgegennehmen.

Die Gästeliste des Galaabends zum World Ski Award las sich vergangenen Samstagabend wie das Who is Who der weltweiten Wintertourismusbranche. Von Kanada bis nach Australien, von Finnland bis nach Japan – kein Weg war den Vertretern der besten Skihotels, Skigebiete und Wintersportorte zu weit, um bei der Erstauflage des World Ski Awards in Kitzbühel dabei zu sein. A-Rosa-Direktor Uwe Schramm: „Es ist uns eine große Ehre, als Gastgeber ausgewählt worden zu sein. Dieser neue Preis setzt wichtige Akzente in Sachen Exzellenz und Qualität im internationalen Wintertourismus“.
20 Wintersportnationen wurden in vier Kategorien ausgezeichnet. Höhepunkt des Galaabends war die Verleihung der World Awards.
Das Skigebiet Val Thorens/Frankreich darf sich über den Titel „Best Ski Resort“ freuen. Als bestes Ski Hotel ging das Ritz Carlton in Bachelor Gulch/USA hervor. Der Titel „Best Ski Boutique Hotel" ging an das Aurelio in Lech/Österreich, das Bighorn Hotel in Revelstroke/Kanada darf sich über die Auszeichung „Best Ski Chalet“ freuen.
